About the Band

Chil are a quality rock and pop covers band. They combine great vocal harmonies with excellent instrumental ability. The band is very professional in their approach and the line-up comprises two main singers and two backing singers, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass and drums.

Many venues regard Chil as the best covers band available and the sound they generate is both powerful and detailed. The band engage with the audience and get everyone into the music quickly. Their approach leads to an upbeat, party atmosphere where everyone enjoys themselves.

The band members are :-

Stuart McKay on lead vocals and lead guitar

Chil Chilcott on lead vocals and drums

Lorna Thomas on backing vocals and bass

Jack Hunter on backing vocals and guitar

The Band has been together for the last eight years and all members come from professional, semi-professional and session backgrounds. You can be sure that you are dealing with people who demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in what they do.

Chil play a wide range of music specialising in rock and popular covers with the aim of providing great entertainment and getting audiences up dancing early on. The choice of songs ranges from contemporary favourite such as The Kaiser Chiefs, White Stripes, The Strokes, The Hives, The Zutons and U2 to classics from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, The Stone Roses and David Bowie. In addition they perform well known standards from the likes of Van Morrison, Ben E King, Bob Marley and Neil Young.

Chil have played many well-known venues such as The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Dropkick Murphy’s, the Counting House and the Three Sisters in Edinburgh, The Albert Hall, Stirling, Fernie Castle, Fife, The Discovery Centre and The Doghouse, Dundee and Mariners Night Club and Nobles Bar in Leith. The band are currently appearing regularly at Dropkick Murphy’s and Nobles Bar in Edinburgh.
