About the Band
Alive and jiggin are a three piece very versitile band combining the nights entertainment with lively ceilidh dances with a modern twist, and also mixed in with classic cover songs from the early 50's to present day chart hits.
The band is lead on accordion and keyboards by 22year old Gary Forrest. Gary studied music at the royal academy of music and drama in Glasgow, and has won several major titles including 'Rotary Clubs Young musician of the year' The brittish and scottish accordion championships, he has also appeared on BBC radio and televison on many occassions..Gary is also the ceilidh dance caller for the band.
The bands guitarist/singer Ian Cameron is the most experienced member of the band. ian has previously toured extensivley with bands such as 'Fish' and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. His amazing guitar style gives the bands ceilidh music and exciting and fresh approach. If there are any songs that ian doesnt know they are not worth knowing.
The bands drummer George Dever is originally from the Orkney isles, He has played with hundreds of different bands including the famous celtic rock band from orkney 'Three Piece Suite'. George also doubles up as our residant band D.J.
Alive and jiggin are the perfect band for any occasion be it a Wedding, Ceilidh, party, festival or even a bar/club situation.
Normally perform as a three piece but can reduce to a 2 piece if required.
